My Students

We have a state of the art on-line catalog as well as access to educational databases and grade appropriate on-line encyclopedias. I teach students how to use these tools for research projects as well as recommending web sites to help them with their school work and for their enjoyment.

My students are in grades 5 through 8.

I spend the first year teaching all 5th grade students the rudiments of on-line resources including the library's on-line catalog. Students are eager to learn about these resources and put them to use for their edification and enjoyment. They are great children with lively imaginations and curiosity.

My Project

My school has grades 5 through 8 and each grade has it's own LCD projector. The problem is that I have to borrow an LCD projector from one of those grade levels to use during library classes. My students need an LCD projector to learn how to use the library's on-line catalog, databases and other online resources. Without the LCD projector students fall behind in learning to access information efficiently. Not only do I have to borrow an LCD projector from a grade level but so does the art, health and technology teachers.

We are in the age of information technology and our students need to be taught how to access, evaluate and use sophisticated resources or they will fall behind academically and socially.

I need an LCD projector to make sure our students receive necessary instruction to use information efficiently.
