My Students: Technology keeps advancing every single day, but with all the economic cuts we are forgetting to update the technology in our classrooms. Having the ability to show a presentation in class in vivid colors would maintain the attention of all students is. Please help me help my kids!

Our wonderful class consists of thirteen intelligent girls and twenty intelligent boys. Over half of my class are English Language Learners. My students are building the foundation for the rest of their lives. It is with great honor that I say that I have helped established such great students.

The school is located in a high-poverty area in Southern California. Since we are in a poverty area, many students many times make the mistake of calling me mom or mommy. I always tell them that although I may not be their mother, we are all a family. Our class is very diverse and we enjoy learning about each other. It is great to see that most students didn't even know how to write their name, but today they are reading all on their own. Our class has grown so much, but we continue to learn from each other.

My Project: My students always look forward to the beginning of a new unit theme. I always make a PowerPoint presentation that engages them in the subject. Unfortunately, I display the presentation from my lap top computer. With a class of thirty-three, most students do not get to enjoy the presentation as much as I would like them to. I have several students that have visual impairments and even if they are sitting in front of the computer, they can't really get a good look at the presentation.

I have a lot of visual learners and by having an LCD projector all my students would get a better view of any presentation, test, or any other material that I would like them to see. The LCD projector would serve as an accommodation for my visual learners. Please help my students see.

Have you ever tried walking around a pitch black room? One can probably get out of the room, but it would be much easier if we were able to see. My students have a similar problem. When I try to show them and article or presentation on my lap top, it becomes a difficult task for some of them because they can't see very well. Having an LCD projector would allow every student to go from darkness into the light of education. Please help my students see. Their education depends on it. hide»
