My Students

Oh My! After researching how students are so motivated by technology and immediate response, I knew how wonderful it would be to have a set of Qclick response remotes. I have observed how students have an intense need to achieve.

I teach with a wonder group of sixth graders in a rural North Carolina School.

They come to school with wondering and curious eyes absorbing everything they see and hear. The students are so eager to learn new things. With this quick response clicker system students can receive immediate feedback on a particular question during our math class. How wonderful would it be to test your knowledge immediately and receive feedback within seconds. My students would love this fun piece of technology and best of all, I would be able to understand which students need that extra support and help with the click of a button. This would be a great pre-test and post-test system in order to guide my lessons and planning. This system will guide my tutoring groups and reteaching of subject matter.

My Project

My students have so much untapped energy and competitiveness. Studies have shown that the audience response system engages students in an interactive and fun learning environment. While the responses can be displayed anonymously, I will be able to track individual and whole class results and act accordingly. For example, If I ask the question 2x + 3 = 11, within two minutes I could see how many students answered correctly, and which specific students answered incorrectly. Within that same two minutes, students would be able to know if they arrived at the correct answer by looking at a visual graph just as an audience does in the show, 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.'
