My Students

Do you know how frustrating it is to have all the latest technology right at your fingertips, but you are unable to access it? Well, my students and I do. We have the latest Promethean board available but, the old computers we have are unable to successfully manage the demands without crashing.

My students are the most eager and enthusiastic students that any 5th grade teacher could ask for.

Although they are sponges for education, it can sometimes be challenging and current technology is a must. I teach in rural Colorado, with limited resources. I am responsible to teach the Gifted and Talented pool, three classes of writing, and I am the Student Government sponsor. These students certainly keep me on my toes. They are curious and passionate about learning. An updated laptop would make it possible to access the Promethean board and all its capabilities. I have served on many committees and have tried to stay abreast of the ever changing curriculum and demands, while remaining committed to my students and our district. I strive each year to bring my students into the 21st Century technology. As a rural teacher, I do see a wide range of learning styles in my classes, including students with disabilities.

My Project

Having an updated laptop that is compatible with a Promethean board will enable me to prepare more exciting, appealing and interactive lessons for my students. Any information we desire is at our fingertips and can be readily accessed. In turn my students will be able to research for projects, create flip charts, and make outstanding presentations.

Technology is the wave of the future and our students deserve the very best education possible.

You will make it feasible for my students to reach our goal of becoming 21st century learners through the integration of current technology. In my 22 years of teaching, I hold each of my students near and dear to my heart, I firmly believe that with the right educational foundation, they will be valuable, essential leaders of tomorrow.
