My Students

Have you ever felt like you had the world on your shoulders! Just think of how fun it would be to have that feeling and then you could throw it high into the air. Well that's the fun you can have with Omnikin Lightweight Activity Balls!

I teach in a district in Kansas that is considered High Poverty.

The kids for the most part do not have the means to experience new activities unless it is through Physical Education class. That is why I strive to provide new activities for the kids to get excited about learning.

My Project

I am requesting three Omnikin Lightweight Activity Balls. These are like a balloon bladder ball with a protective nylon cover. These balls help teach teamwork, cooperation and balance. The balls are 3 1/2 feet tall so the students have to use cooperation with fellow classmates to be successful in these activities. Teamwork is a very hard skill to teach to young children because they have an "I" mentality and these activities instill a "WE" attitude.

I believe that we as educators need to find new and creative ways to teach the basic skills of teamwork and cooperation to our students at a young age because it is a life skill that many people in the world today do not possess.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
