My Students

In my classroom we apply this quote each and every single day. Our need for this technology will help us overcome another obstacle.

My students are the perfect example of why you should never give in to defeat but attempt to overcome any obstacle that is placed in your way.

One of my students has spina bifida; he is orthopedic impaired and is confined to a wheelchair. Another student is extremely visually impaired and needs assistance walkin. Although, when visiting my classroom you see no difference between these two students and the rest of the class! The only challenge that my students face is their physical classroom environment. There is not enough room for a wheelchair and walking cart to move around the room.

My Project

We are requesting a touch screen computer that will allow our physically disabled students to interact with the SMART Board (a touch sensitive, interactive whiteboard)the same way that other students can. This computer allows you to manipulate and move objects with the touch of a finger. The computer can sit right on a student's lap, helping eliminate some visibility issues. It also comes with a pen that can write directly on the screen! The same capabilities of the SMART Board, but with easier accessibility!

This project is very important to us because we want each and every student to have the same classroom experience, without any limitations.

Having this computer will allow my students to utilize the same technology in place for other students.
