Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With the state tests always looming, literacy can be a daunting thing at times. Children need a way to develop their literacy skills in a safe, fun way, and feel empowered while doing so.

My students come from difficult home lives.

They don't have all the opportunities they deserve, and it breaks my heart. While our entire educational community does everything we can to help improve the lives of our students, I still feel they don't get everything they need.

My Project

We spend so much time on test prep, test prep, test prep, in the hope that we can move our children on to the next grade. Unfortunately, this leads to negative opinions about literacy. Children need a way to develop their reading and comprehension skills without feeling pressured. It needs to be fun for them. My students need independent reading comprehension and vocabulary activities that they can bring to their desks in order to work on their literacy skills independently without any pressure. It can be fun for them again.

Your support will enable my students to do literacy activities that are engaging for them.

They will enjoy these activities and find reading fun again, not just something that they need to do to pass the test. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and support!
