"We are a very small alternative high school with approximately 50 students. All of the students here have dropped out or been asked to leave another high school, but have chosen to come back and give school another try. The kids are amazing and we are very lucky to have such a small school because we really get to know the kids and build lasting relationships with them.

The one problem here is that there is not much room for us. We do not have a building of our own and we rent space from the church next door. The classes are in two different buildings, and only one of these buildings has a water fountain!! In order to get a sip of water, kids have to come down 4 flights of stairs!

So I am asking some wonderful donor to donate a water cooler and a supply of water for the kids here. The students constantly bring pop to school, or worse, nothing at all! We are all very thirsty and I know the kids are probably dehydrated. How nice it would be if the students had a water cooler in the classroom, so that they could drink freely all day and stay healthy!

I would use the money to buy a water cooler and to have the water refilled throughout the year. We would be very appreciative!!

The cost of a water dispenser is $452, including shipping and fulfillment ?.

Dear Alicia, Keith, Laura and Anonymous Donors,
We at Dugan cannot be more thankful or more excited that our proposal has been funded!! THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART for your kindness and generosity! I have let the teachers know that the end of our drinking fountain woes has arrived and the students will be even more ecstatic when I tell them Monday morning! It is so nice to know that there are such kind people in the world who are willing to help our students in any way possible. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! You have no idea how much this means.

On Dec 5, 2006, Ms. F. followed this note with student letters sent via mail to the donor who completed this project, and to donors who gave $100 or more.
