My Students

Do you remember picking out you favorite book to read at bedtime. Many of my students will not develop this special memory because they don't have books at home to read.

My school is in a low income area of Arkansas.

I teach children individually and in small groups Kindergarten through third grade. These wonderful students, their classroom teachers, parents and I are working to increase each students reading fluency by giving them books they can read independently or with their parents. They need books that can go home everyday to be read, enjoyed and remembered.

My Project

The students I work with are all at different levels if learning to read. Most do not have books at home that they can read independently or to their parents or siblings. You gift will allow me to send home books everynight to that students can practice their reading at home. This combined with reading instruction at school will help them become fluent readers. These take home books will give each of my students multiple opportunities to read and enjoy books at home and school.

Your gift will allow my students to have access to books at home that they can read by themselves or with a parent.

Reading these books will build confidence in the child as their reading abilities grow. Together we can help my students develop strong reading skills and a passion for reading.
