My Students

"I believe the children are our future and they are!" I want to keep the Broadway Musicals alive in my music classroom by "projecting" them on the "big screen" as they were intended to be viewed. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade music in a high-needs urban school district.

My music students have limited resources and many will never have the opportunity to travel to NYC to see a Broadway musical on stage.

I do the best I can to bring the experience to them. They love watching musicals and learning about the characters and songs - on a 27" screen TV. What a complete visual experience they would receive when they watched "West Side Story" or "Cats" through the wonders of an LCD projector!

My Project

My students need an LCD projector to bring their musical experiences to life, to feel the passion of "The Phantom of the Opera", to understand and enjoy the trials of the children in "The Sound of Music", and be welcomed to the 60's in "Hairspray". After watching our musicals we will be able to review by playing Jeopardy. All of my students will benefit. It's a win-win situation.

This LCD projector will help motivate and keep the attention of my middle school students while exposing them to the wonderful world of Broadway Musicals. Having this technology in the classroom will truly benefit their music education experience. Thank you for considering my proposal.
