Mad Scientists At Work!

My students need new safety goggles to wear when conducting Mad Scientist experiments!

My Students

Mad Scientists can be seen at work in our classroom, searching for chemical reactions in our Powders and Crystals hands-on chemistry unit, in 4th grade. Unfortunately, the safety goggles we have are "unsafe" goggles, as many of the lenses are broken in 1/2, right down the center. (Still used.)

We have a diverse class of motivated 4th grade learners.

We are located in upstate NY. Hands down, science is a favorite subject for most, due to the hands-on nature of the subject. It is a way that students can feel successful in the classroom, and it is exciting. The 4th graders enjoy exploring and finding chemical reactions! Each student takes on the roll as Mad Scientist and performs an experiment for the class. We learn from one another. This keeps them interested.

My Project

With replacing our shoddy goggles, the boys and girls will be given really "safe" safety goggles, and feel that they are as important as the experiments they are doing. They shouldn't have broken materials, that are not up to parr. They will be able to safely explore chemical reactions with Vinegar, Iodine, and BTB, with the mystery substances, looking through these goggles.

The Mad Scientists for many years to come will look through these goggles, as they explore the scientific world.

They will know that they came from the generosity of those who value their futures. We appreciate your sponsoring our request and helping us learn Science hands-on, safely.
