Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to dance and I teach dance to over three hundred students in our school. My students get frustrated when I have to stop their dancing to shuffle Cd's and run across the room to switch out Cd's. Due to the poor quality of the CD players we use, the music often skips and stops.

I teach at a public school in NYC.

Our school is PreK-Second grade. My students are fairly diverse with different backgrounds and cultures. They find common ground in my class through dance. Everyone dances and everyone is involved. Every student also performs in at least one dance performance during the school year. They show such pride when they get up to perform in front of their families and peers.

My Project

Our dance classes and dance performances will run much better with a new stereo. The students will actually get to spend more time dancing rather than having to stop in-between CD's. Having a reliable music system will make our dance performances even better and will allow the students to concentrate on their dancing instead of worrying about the music. Working on performances as a class really allows the students to express themselves and also allows them to work together creatively. Having dance in our school is such a special thing.

By funding this project over three hundred young students will be impacted.

Donations will help students in a class that they often enjoy the most: Dance. This class really allows the students to shine in ways different from their classroom setting. This stereo will be used for years to come by more eager students.
