I teach the Business Computer Technology, Keyboarding, and the Exploring Career Decision Standard Course of Study, in which we identify the essential knowledge and skills that all students need to be active, lifelong learners in a technology intensive environment.

Our school is a partial magnet school that is nestled in a 40-year old neighborhood surrounded by numerous mature trees, spread out over 8 acres. We have over 70 classroom teachers and over 45 support staff and faculty, many of which are national board certified and have advanced degrees. Our IB program has been a stellar program with some of the top students attending. Many have completed their high school years and attended some of the nation's top colleges like Yale, Harvard, Wake Forest, Duke, and MIT. Our students have received millions of dollars in scholarship funds. Truly, some of the best students in the district entered into our program and have done very well. We are very proud of our students.

Technology is undergoing rapid change, and new and improved technological advances appear almost daily. The curriculum is designed to form the foundation for continuous learning and to be applicable to ever-changing innovations. The software that I use to teach requires headphones, but we have no means to purchase them. Headphones would allow students to work individually, and at their own pace on interactive assignments.

Purchasing new headphones guarantees that the latest equipment is available to our students. It also insures that the equipment is available and operational for student use. We need your help to make this happen!
