Hello! I am a second grade teacher in a New York City Public School. I teach in a low income school. My class consists of 23 wonderful students. My 2nd graders have a smaller range of vocabulary than older students, so they need a way to express the things that they see, feel, and to learn new vocabulary. An HP digital camera and the photographs they produce will help them share what they see with other students, adults, and parents. We will use the HP digital camera within our curriculum to provide students with a visual for the vocabulary being used and taught. My students want to learn new words and use them in their everyday speech and an HP digital camera will help us do this. Not only will my students see a visual along with the vocabulary word, but using the camera students will be able to produce projects such as PowerPoint, Photo Stories, etc. to explain and teach topics that are interesting to them. An HP digital camera will not only be used with this year's students, but classes to come. I will be able to teach a multitude of students the skills needed to use digital camera and create products using their pictures. This may be my students' only chance to learn how to use digital cameras. Your generous donation will ensure that my students learn the technology skills needed to live in our technology-rich world.
