I teach 23 enthusiastic third graders in a high-need rural Oklahoma community. The community has limited Internet access and does not have a public library. The school library is also very limited in resources.

My students have shown an amazing interest in reading and interacting in a small group setting. However, we have already read my entire collection of multiple copy books. Our school library is limited, and our community is miles away from a public library. I need access to more books to continue reading with my students.

What better way to utilize technology and reading than with an Apple iPod? I would use the six Apple iPod shuffles to download books from the Internet. Using the Internet to download books would give me the opportunity to have access to a wide variety of books and genres. Most importantly, my students would be able to continue to read and interact in a small group setting.

Your help will ensure that my students have the opportunity to continue reading and interacting in small groups through downloading books onto iPods.
