My students need 7 sets of science books, CDs, and big books, and two All-In-One Science Resources.

I am a science teacher in a high-needs, high poverty school in New York City. My students are in kindergarten, first and second grades. They are motivated and highly inquisitive youngsters and they truly love science.

My school has experienced severe budget cuts and there are more cuts projected for next year. Unfortunately, there are no funds available to purchase supplies or books this year.

I am requesting science books so that I can establish a classroom science library. My students love to read and these books will allow them to delve further into various topics related to the units we are studying. Not only will these books allow them to read about subjects they are particularly interested in, they will also enable them to gain practice in research skills and in writing reports.

Your help will make it possible for me to enhance my science program by providing my students with age appropriate books that they can read independently on topics about which they would like to learn more. Thank you for your consideration.
