We are learning in the stone age! I have an amazing class of eager fifth graders, and not even a working overhead projector to work with. Our school has so little technology, we are not preparing our students for the real world.

Teaching without technology these days is possible, but it is not always in the best interest of our students. They are so used to playing video games and watching T.V., that waiting for their teacher to write information on a chalk board is not engaging.

I had the opportunity to borrow a document camera and a LCD projector recently, and we are hooked! My lessons were so much more engaging. The kids are able to see in detail, whatever I had to show them. They are also able to see each other's work. There are so many applications for a document camera, every classroom should have one!
