We are a 3rd grade class who is stuck in the middle. We are not a new school with all of the bells and whistles. We also are just above the line that will get us help.

Every year in 3rd grade we do a unit on maps. I am always shocked to see how many students have never used a map. Many have never seen a map. Most of them have no clue why we need directions. This is a skill that every person should have.

It is important for the students to see many different types of maps. They also need to see the many different ways directions are important. The students also will discover all of the different parts of the world. That is why I am asking for a rug that they can use to follow directions. I am also requesting photos of the different parts of the country and different American figures. The best part is the books that will help the students understand on their level.

By helping my students you will make it possible for them to experience many different types of learning. My students deserve to have every chance possible. I am hoping you will give that to them.
