I teach 3rd Grade Science and Math in a high poverty school in Michigan where I am trying to teach interdisciplinary units to link with Social Studies and Language Arts. I, as well as the rest of my school, use the Positive Behavior System.

With my interdisciplinary units, I am trying to link and show videos, maps, and PowerPoint projects that tie in with my lesson. We only have one projector in our school and is always in use by someone. I am trying to make it possible so I can eliminate the need to consistently tracking it down and signing up for it. Since we are a high poverty school district, it is difficult to obtain more for our building. I have noticed that it is already extremely beneficial to show them clips, videos, maps and PowerPoint projects already.

By showing clips that I can download from youtube or teachertube, using google maps and creating PowerPoint’s, I am able to really dive deeper into the lessons for these students. Think of amazing clips for History, or Science and how that would have benefited you growing up. They have already shown a great interest in technology and would like to use it more. I would like to have them create their own (presentation) and present it to the class.

With your donation, you will make it so my students will be able see and hear more real life examples of ... almost anything! You will make it possible to dig deeper into and understanding the interdisciplinary units that I teach.
