Reading Enrichment Project

My students need 30 copies of the book "Where the Red Fern Grows."

Our school is in a high need district. We have many students that are on free and reduced lunch. I teach fourth grade and I have between 26-31 students yearly. I try to introduce good literature; such as this book I'm asking for to encourage reading. I feel education, and especially the love for reading can really enhance success for my students.

I really need support in bringing good reading to my students. My students come to school without everyday supplies, and asking them to help buy paperbacks is unrealistic. The majority of our students fall into the poverty level and getting anything extra from the community is difficult. I am looking for small ways of making a difference in the lives of my students.

I need a class set of books in order for every student to receive the full benefit of this reading experience. The book set I'm asking for, Where The Red Fern Grows, has been tried and true over the years and is a fourth grade favorite.

I'm asking for your support in this project. Your help would ensure that my students have the opportunity to read good literature. I believe with your help I can hook some some students into reading before its too late. I feel that the base or structure for the love of reading is set when a child is young. Please help me make a difference in the lives of my class.
