This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How frustrating is it when you work so hard on a project and find all of your work had been deleted?

My students and I have been doing numerous digital projects this year.

We have been creating podcasts as well as digital movies. These projects have motivated my children so much that the first question they ask when we finish a project is, "What is our next media project?" Those are their exact words. It is truly a gift to see them so excited to be learning because for many of them it is such a challenge. I have a fifth grade class with a mix of general and special education students. Their reading abilities range from second grade to sixth grade.

My Project

Using technology to teach these children has changed their lives. As I said earlier, they are so motivated to learn. One of the biggest problems we face, however, is saving the work we have done. We are very fortunate to have so many computers in our building, but it is difficult to keep all of the work together since we don't always have access to the same computers each time we are working.

This is why we need your help.

With flash drives, the children would be able to work at any computer without the fear of another student from another class deleting their work. They would also be able to do research at home and bring it back to school with them. Flash drives will be another thing that will change their lives and you could be the one to make that happen.
