Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have a wonderful class of 22 Third Graders. They are an exceptional class. A majority of my students are ELL learners,get free or reduced lunch, and come from low income families. Their parents speak Spanish or Creole. Many of students have strong ties to Haiti and have been worried about family members.

My students love to share their writing. Reading and Writing is a big part of my Third Grade curriculum. My students love learning. Many of their parents struggle to give them the help they need. The video camera will make sharing their stories and school projects fun! Being able to record themselves and then view and critique their work would be a great teaching tool. It would be exciting if they were able to watch themselves when I download the video onto the computer. The video camera would make this all possible.

I can only imagine how excited my students would be if they were able to view themselves on our class web page. The Video Camera would open up a whole new world to them. They would be able to record important classroom events, and view them at a later date! My student would be "Stars"!

You will make it possible for my students to feel important. It will give them a reason to complete their projects so they can record their achievements on video and share them with others.
