"As you know, funding for schools is dropping and so a lot of classroom supplies, storage containers, shelves, rugs, etc. are purchased by the classroom teacher. I bought a calendar area rug years ago but it gave out last year.

I believe that it's important for children to have comfortable, personal space and, as second graders, my children spend a lot of time on the rug: calendar, story, mini-lessons, etc. I have found that the rugs with patterns that create an area for each child to sit, are invaluable in that they give each child a "spot", are more comfortable for the children (rather than sitting on a thin rug glued to a cement understructure, and are a cheery addition to the class.

So, I'm asking for a good sized rug that 20 children can sit on (many times, we invite other classes to join us). Please consider helping me provide a comfortable area for my children.

The cost one sitting squares carpet from KidCarpet is $506, including shipping and fulfillment ?.

Dear Julie, Lisa and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you so much for your generous gift--a comfortable rug for our classroom!! I'm so moved and excited that and appreciative that you understand how important it is that each child has a special place and a comfortable place to sit. As I said, we spend a lot of time learning "on the rug". I told the children about your gift and they are also excited and anxiously waiting for it to come. Thank you again,
Elaine S
