My Students

With over 780 students in our building and one computer lab our LCD projector is always in use. Unfortunately the projector is beginning to wear out. The images are not clear and the students have a very hard time reading the text.

We are up to about 50% free and reduced lunch in our school now.

Our budget was slashed again this year, including more layoffs, program cuts and no spending beyond the absolute necessities. Many of our students have no contact with technology outside of school and find their time in the computer lab invaluable.

My Project

A high quality LCD projector will allow all the teachers in our K-5 building to stream educational videos, demonstrate computer programs, website usage, and webquests with all of our students. The projector that is in the lab now will be taken down and utilized in a classroom.

Preparing students for the 21st Century depends on access to technology.

Our students are already behind in technology usage and since we are considered a more "middle class" district we do not get the funding more disadvantaged schools receive for technology. We are caught in a catch 22.
