What's the Point?

My students need a wireless presenter, AAA batteries, and 18 flash drives for transferring photo files.

I teach high school students, grades 9th through 12th, in Photojournalism, Journalism, Newspaper and English. Our low income district is a small one and being so, many of the teachers must teach more than one subject in order to provide electives for our students.

We do our best to provide electives which pique the interest of our students. However, some of those electives, like my photojournalism, require expensive supplies. The district does its best to provide the basics for photojournalism but we face many obstacles. It's all administration can do to keep us in ink and paper.

We love to view and critique each others photos but lack storage space on our computers for our large photo files. Being able to use a flash drive will allow each student to carry his/her photos with him/her. It will also allow him/her to organize the files for easy recall. Students will be able to enhance their organizational and technology skills for college where flash drives are used everyday. A wireless presenter/pointer allows their work to be viewed and critiqued from anywhere in the room instead of from a voice in the dark corner.
