I am a 7th grade math teacher from South Louisiana. I teach approximately 150 students daily. Included in my classes are students whose levels range from honors to special needs.

The printer that is currently in my classroom is over a decade old. It takes an incredibly long time to spool and print. When a student needs a copy of something, the student and I have to wait for the job to print. This wastes precious class time. When the copy does come through the printer, due to age, the newly printed document often has smudges and smears making it difficult for the students to read. The printer I currently have no longer prints in color. Everything can only be seen in black and white. If there is a graph that needs to be displayed, the students can only use black and white.

I am requesting a HP Multi-functioning printer. It has printing, scanning, and copying capabilities. The students have the accommodation on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) to have a copy of notes. Another student's notes can be easily scanned, or the teacher's notes can be quickly scanned, copied and printed.

With your contribution all of the students will benefit from having a new printer in the classroom. Since my current printer is over a decade old, does not print in color, and does not print properly by leaving smudges, my classes desperately needs a new printer. It is difficult to reproduce materials in my classroom with these restraints.
