Have you ever tried to teach students to use microscopes that you yourself could hardly see through? I teach 6th grade science in a very low-economic district in Kentucky, and this is a problem I face.

Working with microscopes is in our 6th grade curriculum, but it can be extremely discouraging when you don't have the proper equipment to do your job.

If we could add just 4 intermediate microscopes, it would make a big difference to my class. Why intermediate? Because they are easier for 6th grade students to use and understand. With 4 new microscopes, I could group the students, and everybody would get the opportunity to work with one of the new ones.

With your help I will be able to see that my students leave this school with a more thorough knowledge of microscope use, thus better preparing them for future grades and even college.
