Remembering 5th Grade Learning through Digital Portfolios

My students need one quality digital camera to allow them to take pictures of projects that are too large to scan such as class presentations, science experiments, special events that are part of their 5th grade experience.

I teach 5th grade self contained classroom that averages 20 students in a rural community. My school is K-8th grade.

As a parent, my wife saved papers and such for each of my children for every year they were in school. She archived my children's experiences for them to look back at. I've been requiring my students to make a digital portfolio sampling their work throughout their 5th grade experience. The purpose to cut down on boxes of saved materials to one disk that will work in their DVD player or computer. Currently we can only save papers that can be scanned. So much more of my students fifth grade experience can be digitalized if we had a camera such as their parts in the 5th grade American History play, our food drive, etc.

My students need a quality digital camera to capture more of their 5th grade experience for their digital portfolios.

Your help will enable my students to generate a very accurate and complete portfolio. They will use the camera and other technology to take pictures of important memorable learning experiences to create a CD that chronicles what they did in 5th grade.
