Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Today, it is not only important that our students learn to read, write, and succeed in math, but they also need to be exposed to the arts. They need to experience the joy of music too. One of my goals as a teacher is to help my students succeed in all academic areas. I try to make sure that they leave my classroom with the desire to become well-rounded and lifelong learners. There is so much to be learned from music. The alphabet, nursery rhymes, poems, social studies, math, and science facts can be reinforced and remembered better when they are sung over and over again. I find music to be the best motivation for teaching my students. Unfortunately, in these times of huge budget cuts, my school does not have the money to purchase materials for music in the classroom. With your help, the CD music libraries could help me supplement my curriculum and enable my students become inspired to learn through music. I teach 24 first grade English language learners at a school in the San Fernando Valley. Most of their families lack the resources and language ability to help their children at home. My students develop their enthusiasm for learning from school. Please share in my enthusiasm to expose my students to the various types of learning through the music in Dr. Jean's Classics CD Library and the Rhythm and Music CD Library. I am certain they will become successful learners as they listen to the music. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
