Add An Assistant Band Director!!! (Well, Kinda.)

My students need 3 sets of speakers, a wireless broadband router, and an AV cart.

Needed: One assistant band director (Or the next best thing). I have taught at my current school for the past 9 years. The school is in a very high poverty, rural area of Alabama. (What rural school in Alabama isn't high poverty?) I teach instrumental music to grades 5-12 and spend the other half of the day teaching other fine arts classes.

Although I rehearse with my students during and after school, I am only one teacher. My students need tools to help guide them in their practice.

I have three old but serviceable computers and I am personally purchasing the software for these computers. The software is called SmartMusic and is an accompaniment software that can let students know if they miss a note or rhythm. SmartMusic is a great teaching tool that students can use on their own and it sends performance grades and recordings to the teacher. (You can see what this software can do at www.smartmusic.com). What we need are three sets of external computer speakers, one A/V cart and a broadband wireless router to make this dream a reality.

Your donation would allow us to complete three practice stations that would be available for use by almost 100 music students. Not quite an assistant..... more like three!!!!
