My students put the "special" in Special education! They may have special challenges, yet all of them have special gifts. They are kind, loving, and pure of heart.

In the academic poker game of life, my students not only have been dealt a less than perfect hand; they have had their poker chips, or funding, diverted to the General Education fund, thanks to a legal loophole. These are the last students who should be last in the budgetary line of life.

You can help to bring these exceptional children into the realm of the worldwide web. I am respectfully requesting a Netbook computer and a 20 LCD TV/monitor. With these desperately needed items, the students will benefit from their access to infinite academic resources that can be viewed and utilized by all, or for individualized differentiation. The texts, tests, and tools from 1960-1980(not a joke) need to be tossed! All special needs students deserve a chance to be exposed to the wonders of the 21st century.

You can be the key to the successful future of a socioeconomically disadvantaged special needs child. Helping with their needs will help in the future of us all.
