My students need a My Piano Pack Midi Keyboard and Instructional CD-ROM, an acoustic guitar, 2 headphones, and an audio shelf.

My students are faced with challenges in communicating everyday and music can be a healthy and positive outlet. I teach 3rd-5th students with Autism. The students abilities and communication needs vary greatly. Our school is located in an urban area with low income families. We currently have 8 students in my room and our resources are very limited.

One thing all of my students have in common, is a love for listening and making music. I know my students would enjoy music being brought to the classroom. This gift would enable me to do whole group activities that would engage the student's multiple intelligences. It is difficult to engage all of my students in a group activity, but music would allow us to communicate, express feelings and have social interaction.

The resources I need are a CD player with headphones, a mini keyboard and mini guitar. This will enable the students to either go take a little time away and silently relax to music...or we can listen to music and play along as a group.

With your help, these 8 children will have another outlet. The struggles they face to communicate are ongoing and the gift of music would enhance their opportunity to "speak" in their own way.
