We All Need A Hero.

History can inspire. Through the past we can learn to live safely and happily in the future. In my school I have the opportunity to use history to help students be able to cope with their world. I will do this by teaching a class called "Hero". I wish for my students to learn about our heroic past. I wish for my students to learn to be heroes.

With today's economy my school district cannot afford to purchase new materials. It is difficult to inspire a new generation of learners with text books that their parents probably used. They need and deserve a fresher way to learn.

I feel that David McCullough's "1776" is a great book that will enable to me to teach students about our heroic past. The inspiring story of how we became a nation and the countless acts of heroism will inspire my students and enable them to keep the American dream alive.

We all need heroes. What a gift to be able to teach a child that they can make a difference. I can do that, with your help, by teaching my students that anyone can be a hero. Look at the historical examples that abound from the American Revolution. Who knows that maybe the next Washington, Adams or Jefferson might be in my next class. With your generous help one of my students might be called upon to lead this country, because we all need heroes and we always will. You could help make that happen and then you will be my hero.
