Training children to become interesting, yet well versed authors is one of my top priotities! I am a fourth grade teacher who is always searching for ways to lure my students into the circle of writing!

Each student in my class is required to take a forty-five minute timed essay for the state. I constantly stress to them the fact that repeating words almost always bores the reader. One tool that we utilize in order to avoid doing this is an electronic dictionary/thesaurus.

I have purchased ten of these electronic dictionaries over the past several years. However, I have twenty students in my class. This creates a small problem because the children have to wait for their turn to use one. Normally, this would not be an issue, but since they are working on a strict time limit; it would be most beneficial if they all had one. To make a complete class set, I need ten electronic dictionary/thesaurus.

If we had ten more dictionaries in the classroom, it would be possible for all of my students to have the same opportunity to succeed.
