I am a Reading teacher in a Title One school which is located in New York. I firmly believe that children must be exposed to the wonders of computers. In my class I have one desktop computer, which is a Dell. This computer is used for researching on the Internet and word processing. We have even made PowerPoint presentations. What I would like to do this year is teach photo and video editing to my class. This would be better taught on a kid-friendly computer. Hewlett-Packard computer is known for its easy maneuverability. Plus, having a computer with a touch screen will provide easy maneuverability for my students. I envision my kids making year-end projects involving their school year highlights. My classes do a lot of wonderful things during the school year, such as trips, reading celebrations and the Spring Festival. To be able to allow my students to create their own masterpieces as final projects would excite them beyond words. Another bonus to having a HP touch screen is the availability of skill building Cd's that are already in my classroom. We are ready to do any reading activity with discs or the Internet. It would be outrageous to be able to give my kids the best computer in the classroom! Plus, the computer would be readily available for their use. We won't have to wait until there is an available time slot in the computer lab. Thank you for your consideration.
