We love having fun while we learn! I teach first grade in a Title 1 school in Georgia. We have a population of almost 90% of our students that would be qualified as coming from a low income household. I also co-teach the first grade students who receive special education services.

The students that I teach are having a difficult time retaining basic information so they can build on that and grow in their education. In math, the students are supposed to be fluent in the basic facts by the end of the year. They really enjoy reading, however many of them are reading below grade level.

The Hot Dot system is a great tool to reinforce basic skills and also integrate technology. This project will help them practice the basic math and reading skills in order to have a more solid foundation to build their knowledge. Not only will the students be learning, but they will be working independently and having fun at the same time.

Once again, your help will empower my students to enjoy and gain more knowledge in reading and math skills.
