Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a full day English as a second language kindergarten program in a low income area. Many of these students come to school without the simple experiences such as drawing with markers or painting. Many of them need hands on activities to help them learn.

Having a multipurpose easel will help the children who need to write letters on a large surface and allow the children who have small motor difficulty to show their knowledge of letters by using magnetic letters, as well as, the normal use of painting and drawing.

If I have this multipurpose easel in my classroom, it would be used daily to hold up big books for reading, showing magnetic letters for our Foundations program, and white board writing for follow the drawing directions. The children will use it for painting and drawing, as well as, writing (some children respond better to writing when they are standing due to sensory needs).

By donating to this project you will make it possible for me as a teacher, to provide multi-sensory learning to my students, as well as, provide them with an artistic outlet. There are so many uses for this easel it is hard to list them all!
