Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

" Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!” Dr. Seuss Our school is in an urban community composed of many low income families. Our children are encouraged everyday to read, read, read. They can only do that if they have books at home to continue what they do in school.

Their financial resources sometimes does not support help them to be able to have books at home. There are many reasons for this like they may not be able to afford to purchase books or have transportation to get to the public library. Sometimes our children come to school without a winter coat, a backpack, or a simple pencil. They do not have enough to purchase books.

These resources which I am requesting will help our children be able to continue to enjoy their new found love of reading at home. These resources also come with activities to complete once they have finished reading with their family.

Your kind donations will empower our children's love of reading and they will be able to show their families what they can do if they only try. Your generous donations will give our children the opportunity to continue to build their reading foundation to make it strong for their academic future. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
