My love for teaching and children grows as I prepare first graders to become successful readers.

Getting books into the hands of readers is crucial. It's even more challenging when you are in a high poverty community and basic resources just aren't there. The Whisper-Phone gives the students a useful tool that will encourage them to read!

I am a high energy, dedicated teacher...but how can I compete with video games? When I read to students, I capture their attention by bringing the book alive with an active voice and presentation! When first graders read to themselves, they can quickly get off task. I believe the Whisper-Phone will give them the extra boost and confidence to become better readers.

There is nothing better as a first grade teacher then when the light for a young reader finally clicks. You can see the excitement and pride in their eyes! Your help will continue my students quest for the love for reading!
