What started four years ago as a simple elementary level school newspaper has evolved into a completely student-run journalism club.

Over 20 students now participate in roles from editor-in-chief, to writer, to production staff. Students determine what stories should be covered, manage all of the reporting, writing, photography, editing, printing, production, and distribution of our student newspaper. Students have gone as far as to gain sponsorships for printing and paper.

Each month, the students face difficulties and limitations with the technology that is available to them. If they had a digital camera at their disposal, they would be able to explore an entire new side of journalism.

The power of motivated youth can be an incredible thing. These students have developed a passion and ownership for journalism and all of its aspects.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
