My students need hands-on science materials for the classroom including a microscope and slides, geodes and rocks, binoculars, horseshoe and wand magnets, insect specimens, puzzles, and games.

I love teaching in my special education day class for third and fourth graders. I teach in an urban school district in a high-need community. My school is very diverse in terms of culture, race, and English language learners. I teach a class that is dedicated to speech and language development. Our school is also a Title One school due to the low socioeconomic status of most of our students.

The biggest obstacle for my students is their disability which makes it hard for them to learn language skills and express themselves. But, together, we are a very interactive classroom filled with opportunities to grow.

Science provides an opportunity for my students to explore, experiment, inquire, and collaborate. My students love science experiments and learning about something that is interesting to them. They would enjoy a variety of different, hands-on science materials and other science resources, such as a microscope and slides, geodes, magnets, and insect specimens. These resources will help meet science standards for both the third and fourth grade in earth, physical, and life sciences.

You will make it possible for my students to inquire and experiment in science and open up the unlimited possibilities of learning. Science has been building a large amount of excitement in the classroom. Please give them the chance!
