I am writing on behalf of my third grade students at a very wonderful school in the inner city. My third grade students love to write. They carefully draft, revise, and edit their stories. They lovingly illustrate each page. They put great thought into the name of their title, and cover page. They take great pride in their writing pieces, and beam proudly during our publishing parties! They love when their parents and other family members come to the classroom to see their newly published stories. However, these stories can quickly become damaged during everyday wear and tear. After a few days on a hallway bulletin board, the book covers to a story may start to rip, or a staple holding a story together may fall off, resulting in the loss of pages that were created with hours of work and dedication. A book binding machine and book binding spines will allow my students to protect and save their stories forever. It will also give my third graders a deep sense of pride. i know my students will smile with delight when they see their "professional" looking books. Your donation will make it possible for my students to preserve and protect their work for years to come. It will allow my students to take pride in their beautiful work, knowing that it will be protected from admirers in the hallway. Who knows? You could help inspire a future best selling author!
