My students do not have access to technology and multimedia that enables them to view Science, math, and literature materials in a hands-on way. Without multimedia that allows students to engage directly with the content, these subjects can start to seem a little boring.

My students love these subjects, especially science, but I know they'd be even more excited about it if they had a way to really get their hands into it! Technology shapes the way young people see the world around them, so it makes sense to integrate it into our classroom. An apple computer would allow students to create science electronically. They could actually use a Macintosh program that would allow them to simulate an airplane (something 95% of my students have never been on!)

An apple computer would serve the students in so many ways! We could use it to create movies or even music using garage band! Garage band also has a podcast feature that would allow the students to record themselves and listen to it over. It would have countless uses for science that the students just couldn't access otherwise. For example, they could create an exploding volcano that only erupts when all of the components are set up correctly! The apple computers are designed to foster creativity; this is what my students are lacking in their technology.

Your help will ensure that my students are able to engage with their curriculum in a real-life, hands-on way. Through this technology, numerous subjects will come alive in our fifth grade classroom!
