Middle School Recording Studio

My students need an easy-to-use recording system to capture concerts, solos, and rehearsals.

We already make beautiful music, and now we want to record ourselves! Our middle orchestra is in a lower-income district, and it is hard to get all the equipment that we want through school funds, and local donations.

With this recording device we can listen to our own performances for evaluation, make Cd's of concerts, and even sell them for fundraisers! The students already love playing their instruments, and now they will get the opportunity to make recordings to share and hold onto for keepsakes.

As a member of an orchestra, you are not always aware of what the entire groups sounds like. With a recording device, these children can learn about the recording process, section balance, and what all the parts sound like together. Also, students can play solo parts into the recorder, and then analyze what they played. A great teaching tool!

Teaching in a low-income school has changed how I look at children. I know my students are just as bright as every other "well off" student, but we don't always get the resources other schools have. I want to give my kids every opportunity to improve as I can. Please consider helping us out, I know I, along with every child in the music program will appreciate it! Thanks!
