Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a group of 17 Head Start children age 4-5 who live in a rural area with little opportunity to see musical demonstrations.

For the children in my classroom, music is a part of each of their different cultures. Through music we will be able to communicate together.

We need music equipment including rhythm sticks, egg shakers and tambourines for activities in the classroom. These resources will give the children the opportunity to "study" music. These resources will allow the children to make rhythms and hear beats. Through the use of music we will be able to communicate together and strengthen important listening skills useful for pre-reading.

By helping purchasing these items for my Head Start classroom you will be supporting the children's holistic development.
