I work with an energetic group of third graders at a Title 1 school in the heart of a high-needs community in North Carolina.

I have always loved reading. I grew up in a home of readers, and started reading at a young age. It was easy, fun, and exciting. Unfortunately, for many of my students, their experience with reading has been the exact opposite. Students at our school often come to us with little to no prior experience with books. Many of our students come from homes where English is not the primary language. For these students, reading is not fun - it is hard, frustrating, and boring.

We need bookmarks, a literature activity center and reading comprehension games to provide fun ways to practice reading comprehension. As a teacher, it is my goal to help each of my students develop a passion for reading! The games and bookmarks listed below will encourage students to read in a fun and relaxed manner as they play fast-paced comprehension games. Without realizing it, they will strengthen their comprehension skills, build their confidence levels, and... enjoy reading!
