My classroom is made up of 28 students ranging in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The classroom is a Learning Center which is a combination of students who have less than 50% of their school day in a small group environment and more than 50% of their day (but less than 75%) in a small group environment. Their disabilities range from Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments, Autism, Emotional Disturbances, and Visual Impairments. I love my students so much. They work so hard for me each day and I am trying to provide them a classroom that is stimulating academically so that they can take the information they are learning in my class and use it in their general education class and ultimately in life.

My students are in love with technology. They are fascinated with getting the opportunity to type on the computers, add pictures, and print their papers in color. During our lessons we have an overhead but the images are just overheads. If we could put the student's work under a document camera and they could "see" their work. We would be taking our learning to a whole different level.

We need a document camera. With a document camera my students would be able to share their work with their classmates immediately by putting it under the camera. Can you see their faces now lighting up? What an empowering moment for them. Or for my visual learners being able to put the textbook under the camera and reading it off the board. Lastly, for those students that excel at using the whiteboard to work out their math problems because sometimes using a green whiteboard marker just helps them "get it", I could project their math problems on the board for them to work out. My special education students would benefit from the endless possibilities of visually seeing the curriculum as well as doing the curriculum on the board.

You will make it possible for my students to "see" what they are learning in a new and exciting way.
