My students need a portable listening station that doesn't take up space and 2 iPod Nanos.

What kid doesn't like to hear their own voice recorded? And if you could not just record yourself talking, but reading a story you wrote that others could hear on an iPod? Just imagine.. I work in a Title 1 school. Most of my kids have never even seen an iPod up close, never mind used one to help out their reading and writing skills. But I can imagine the fun they would have recording their stories or listening to others stories at their leisure during centers...

We are CROWDED!! My 19 students and I work and learn in a very crowded, 20+ year old trailer. I have to be very creative with the space I have to make meaningful centers happen without kids being on top of each other. There just isn't room for a "Traditional" listening center in our room.

The use of iPods saves room in both storage and student work space. The use of the digital recorder will also enhance the creativity of my students by allowing them to record the stories they write for the listening pleasure of other students.

Your help will bring more up to date technology to my classroom, technology most of my students wouldn't see outside of the school. It will also enhance their creativity (bringing their own stories to life for others to listen to) and help us solve a space issue.
