My students are the greatest. These 9th to 12the graders formed an archaeology club, the only one in our state, and have donated their time to learning about archaeological methods, documentation and ethics in preparation for a six week field school where they will work with local university professors to dig an important historic site. You could not find a more motivated group of learners.

We would like to spread the word of our activities in order to inspire other budding archaeologists by blogging and streaming real-time videos of the dig. The site has wireless access. To accomplish our goal, we need a computer capable of multimedia production. The kids will provide the web cam and a microphone. The students want want our project to have a full-scale web presence.

This laptop will allow the group to take care of all the normal archaeological housekeeping tasks, like artifact logging and documentation, in addition to all the crazy high tech things that the students want to add to motivate other high schoolers interested in digging.

Your support is crucial. We fund all of our own work, providing the basics, screens, shovels, trowels, and our wonderful parents do all the driving. However buying a laptop is well past our means. Your donation will make it possible for our gang to voluntarily extend the school year and use their creativity to spread the word of their activities.
