How Does That Work? It's Science Time

My students need a water cycle model.

I teach at a high poverty urban elementary school in Maryland. My kids aren't exposed to science in their neighborhood, so I like to teach science in a big way in the classroom.

My students love science. They are interested in how the world works, but they usually don't have a lot to work with. This model would be a very exciting way for my students to learn about the water cycle and about the flow of water once it hits the ground. We live in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and this model will also help my kids visualize how a watershed works.

I am very exciting at the chance of having this model in my classroom. Science is always served best as a hands-on activity. Although our science books do a fairly good job of explaining the water cycle, my kids stand a much better chance of remembering the information if they get to see it and touch it.

You can make this science lesson come alive for 4th and 5th graders for years to come. My young scientists deserve the best, and here is a great way to give it to them. Thank you for believing in our kids, and in our public schools.
